Lecce midfielder Fabio Caserta has admitted he wanted to remain at Palermo to get another chance.

The 30-year-old was sold to Lecce after just one season at Palermo and he does not feel he was given a chance to prove himself in Sicily.

“I would have never left Palermo, but the club made other choices,” declared Caserta Stadionews.it.

“I’m happy to have chosen Lecce, but I would have liked to initially stay at Palermo.

“I don’t think that my transfer depended on coach Stefano Colantuono, because the year before he wanted me.

“Therefore, I don’t know until what point he was influential in this decision. I think that it was mainly the club’s choice.”
