Chelsea interested in Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde

Chelsea are interested in signing Jules Kounde from Sevilla in the summer of 2022, according to L’Equipe, as relayed by Sport Witness. Cesar Azpilicueta, Antonio Rüdiger and Andreas Christensen all are out of contract at Chelsea at the end of the season, and Kounde is one of the players the defending European champions are looking at as a potential replacement.

Kounde has been on the books of Sevilla since 2019 and has established himself as an important player for the La Liga club. The 23-year-old France international centre-back is one of the best young central defenders in the world and would be a brilliant signing for Chelsea.

Sevilla defender Kounde has provided one assist in 17 La Liga games and has played five times in the Champions League so far this season. The Frenchman is out of contract at Sevilla in the summer of 2024.
