According to a report in British broadsheet newspaper the Independent, Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has been arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
The 21-year-old Nigerian international was stopped outside the club’s stadium at 5.30 am on Saturday 24 January.
The Sun quotes a Chelsea spokesman as saying: “We are aware the player was arrested and charged. We want to establish the facts before we comment”.
