Chelsea want to sign Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins

Chelsea are interested in signing Ollie Watkins from Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the January transfer window, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are looking for a new striker and have identified Watkins as a potential target.

Watkins has made 115 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The striker has scored 41 goals and given 15 assists in those matches. The 27-year-old has scored one goal and given two assists in six Premier League matches. The Englishman scored 15 goals and provided six assists in 36 Premier League starts for the Villans last season.

Chelsea are 14th in the Premier League table at the moment with five points from six matches, four points above the relegation zone. Meanwhile, Aston Villa currently find themselves sixth in the standings with 12 points from six games, two points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur.
