Argentina's Hector Cuper was on Saturday appointed coach of the Georgian national football team.

The 52-year-old replaces German Klaus Toppmoller, who was sacked in April.

Cuper was himself sacked by Italian side Parma last May after just two months ago in the job as the club were relegated to the second division.

He helped Spanish club Valencia reach the Champions League final twice in 2000 and 2001. He also coached Inter Milan from 2001 to October 2003.
