Daniel James will not join Leeds United

According to The Manchester Evening News, Daniel James will not leave Manchester United for Premier League rivals Leeds United in the summer transfer window. It has been reported that Leeds head coach Marcelo Bielsa is an admirer of the winger, but United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees the 22-year-old as part of his team for this season.

James joined United from Swansea City only last summer, and, according to WhoScored, made 26 starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League and four starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League last season.

Leeds are looking to sign a new winger this summer despite having brought Rodrigo from Valencia. While the Wales international would be a good signing for the Whites on a loan deal, he is already at a big Premier League club, and ideally he should be looking to fight for his place in the starting lineup and establish himself at Old Trafford long term.
