Derby County draw no bet against Rotherham 4/5 for Saturday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Derby County draw no bet

Odds: 4/5 @ 888sport

Looking to build on what has been a recent resurge as we inch closer to the New Year, Derby will make the trip to a struggling Rotherham on Saturday afternoon.

Starting with the hosts, while Rotherham might have managed to pick up a shock 2-0 win against play-off hopefuls Bristol City last weekend, the Millers came crashing back down to earth earlier in the week. Putting in a sluggish display as they were hit with a 2-1 defeat away at Blackburn, Head Coach Paul Warne still finds his side in the midst of a real relegation scrap. Now with just their goal difference keeping them outside the drop zone, the Reds have lost four of their last five Championship contests and they have recorded just a single second-tier matchup since November 7th. Hit with a 6-1 drumming when last faced off against Saturday’s guests last year, Rotherham also have a real reputation for their extended issues at the back. Already shipping 27 Championship goals so far this season, Warne’s men hold the second-worst defensive tally in the division.

As for the visitors, while Derby might have found themselves in the midst of a real crisis when they decided to sack Philip Coco last month, the Rams are enjoying a recent bounce. With Wayne Rooney taking temporary charge and desperate to be handed the role on a permanent basis, the Whites were last seen in midweek putting in another resilient display at Pride Park. Landing a deserved 2-0 victory against play-off contenders Swansea, the former England skipper finds his side now enjoying an eye-catching six-match Championship unbeaten run. With the chance to break out of the relegation zone as we inch closer to the New Year, Derby have also really impressed with their recent displays at the back. Including bagging a clean sheet against Swansea in midweek, Saturday’s guests have gone over 350 minutes without picking the ball out of their own net.
