Dimitar Berbatov has said that Jan Oblak and Kai Havertz would be great signings for Chelsea in the summer transfer window, as quoted in The Daily Star.
The former Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur striker believes that Chelsea need a goalkeeper, and that Oblak of Atletico Madrid would be a great option.
Berbatov has added that Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Havertz would be an amazing signing for Frank Lampard’s side as well.
According to The Sun, Chelsea are interested in signing Oblak from Spanish club Atletico in the summer transfer window, with Kepa Arrizabalaga making quite a few mistakes between the posts.
TEAMtalk has claimed that the Blues are close to agreed a deal with Bayer over the transfer of Havertz, who can also operate as a winger.
The Daily Star quotes Berbatov as saying: “They for sure need a goalkeeper and Jan Oblak would be a great option. Timo Werner was a good deal, and Willian looks like he might stay if they win the FA Cup. There are still rumours about Kai Havertz who would be an amazing player for them.”
Oblak played 38 times in La Liga and eight times in the Champions League for Atletico this season, according to WhoScored.
Havertz made 29 starts and one substitute appearance in the Bundesliga for Bayer this past campaign, scoring 12 goals and providing six assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
The Germany international attacker also played five times in the Champions League, and scored three goals and provided two assists in three matches in the Europa League, according to WhoScored.
