Inverness Caledonian Thistle missed the chance to close the gap at the bottom of the Scottish Premier League with a 1-1 draw against Dundee United on Saturday.

Eric Odhiambo’s first-half strike looked as if it was going to be enough to give Terry Butcher’s side all three points in their battle against relegation.

But a late Lee Wilkie equaliser means it is two draws from two games since Butcher joined the club.

Falkirk’s 2-2 draw with St Mirren left them four points above Inverness at the foot of the table.

A Derek Riordan volley gave Hibernian the lead before Jamie Hamill equalised for Kilmarnock in a 1-1 draw at Rugby Park.

David Clarkson’s goal sealed a 1-0 win for Motherwell against Hamilton at Fir Park in the Lanarkshire derby.

Striker Darren Mackie celebrated signing a new three-year contract with Aberdeen by scoring a first-half opener before Christian Nade and a second-half Andrew Driver strike gave Hearts a 2-1 win at Pittodrie.

The win moves the Jambos up to third in the SPL table.

Celtic entertain Rangers in the Old Firm derby on Sunday.
