Everton agree to sign Iwobi

Everton have been rumoured as very interested to sign Marcos Rojo from Manchester United on the final day of the transfer window, but the asking price of £25m for the defender has put the Toffees off and they have instead signed a winger. The Merseyside club have agreed a deal for Arsenal winger Alex Iwobi, ranging between £35m and £40m, according to BBC’s David Ornstein.

Ornstein, who is well renowned for closely following Arsenal, confirmed that the Nigeria international will be joining Everton in a final day swoop. It is reported that this deal is one of those six deals that have until 1900 BST to confirm the agreement and therefore, later tonight it should be expected to see Everton officially announce Iwobi’s signing.

The 23-year-old winger has spent the entirety of his career with Arsenal, having joined their academy in 2004, when he was at the age of eight. Now, he could be on his new challenge in the Premier League.
