Everton failed in Olivier Giroud loan bid

Everton wanted to sign Olivier Giroud from AC Milan in the January transfer window, according to The Times. The report has claimed that the Premier League club made an offer to defending Serie A champions Milan on January transfer deadline day. However, the Italian and European champions turned it down.

Former Arsenal and Chelsea striker Giroud was not interested in leaving Milan for Everton on the final day of the January transfer window. The Toffees were willing to make the loan deal permanent for £7 million in the summer of 2023 should they remain in the Premier League.

Everton are really struggling in the Premier League at the moment and could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season. As for Milan, although it is very unlikely that they will be able to defend the Serie A title they won last season, the Rossoneri are very much in the running for the top four.
