Portuguese giants FC Porto have completed the signing of midfielder Ruben Micael from Nacional.  Porto have reportedly paid around 5 million euros to Nacional for Micael’s services, with 20% of any future sale also going to the Madeira based outfit.

Micael has put pen to paper a four and a half year deal that will keep him at the Estádio do Dragão till June 2014.

The midfielder had also attracted attention from Sporting CP, who were  favourites to sign him at the beginning of the winter window. However Nacional’s asking price proved to be too much for the Lisbon giants, who then cooled their interest in the starlet.

Micael has also been previously linked with the likes of Benfica, Werder Bremen, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. He has been in outstanding form for Nacional in this season’s Europa League and is widely considered to be one of the hottest properties in the Portuguese Liga currently.
