Fenerbahçe convince at home

Fenerbahçe overcame their mid-week Champions League defeat by Porto, with a convincing 3-0 win over Gençlerbirligi in the Turkish league.

Brazilian Alex put ‘Fener’ in the lead in the 41st minute and Spanish striker Daniel Guiza, also successful versus Porto, netted the home side’s second in the 64th minute.

And the Istanbul outfit got a third through Colin Kazim-Richards with one minute left in regular time.

Gençlerbirligi had been down to ten since the 54th minute, when El Saka received his second booking after already having been cautioned in the first half.
