Dutch side Feyenoord Rotterdam have agreed to pay damages caused by its fans during Thursday’s UEFA Cup clash with Deportivo la Coruña in Spain.

When it became clear that Feyenoord were going to lose their third consecutive match in the tournament, misbehaviour began with supporters destroying about fifty seats at Riazor stadium.

Sportspaper AS reports on Saturday that Feyenoord’s board regrets what happened and will pay for any damage caused.

Earlier on the day, Feyenoord fans had already been causing troubles in A Coruña’s city center, again reaffirming the reputation built up in recent years. Two years ago fans misbehaved during a UEFA Cup match with French side Nancy, for which the Dutch side were expelled from the tournament.
