Getafe want to sign Alena from Barcelona

Shopping at Barcelona is not the easiest thing to do, simply because of the quality of their players, but sometimes there are opportunities that could be taken. That is how Getafe are feeling right now, as they are targeting Blaugrana’s Carles Alena. According to Cadena Cope, the club from the suburbs of Madrid want to sign Alena on loan from Barcelona during the January transfer window.

Alena is academy graduate at the famous La Masia and he often played last season in the senior team, but this term, things have changed for the 21-year-old. Alena has found his minutes very much limited, as he only made one appearance this season. That was on the opening day of the season, when he played 45 minutes during the 1-0 loss to Athletic Bilbao.

Getafe are not looking to make a move for him in January, though he has not yet spoken to manager Jose Bordalas. Alena is reportedly keen on a move, though there might be other options on the table for him, too.
