Hamburger SV defender Alex Silva is a doubt for the Uefa Cup quarter-final against Manchester City FC after tearing muscle fibres in his left thigh.
The 24-year-old Brazilian was substituted 40 minutes into Sunday’s 2-1 Bundesliga win at FC Schalke 04, and is struggling to recover for the games against City on 9 and 16 April. “I immediately noticed that I couldn’t play on,” he said. “Hopefully, I’ll be back as soon as possible.”
