Huddersfield Town 31/20 to beat Birmingham City in Saturday’s Championship contest

Competition: Championship

Market: Huddersfield Town win

Odds: 31/20 @ Bet 365

Handed the chance to widen their buffer over the relegation zone after returning from the international break, Huddersfield will welcome Birmingham to the John Smith’s Stadium on Saturday.

Starting with the hosts, while Huddersfield may have suffered a 3-1 defeat away at play-off contenders Preston prior to the international break, the Terriers have made a string of improvements since bringing in Danny Cowley. Finding a way out of the bottom-three since appointing the former Lincoln boss, fans in West Yorkshire will be most impressed by their new-found resolve on home soil. Picking up a 2-1 win over Barnsley in their last matchup at the John Smith’s Stadium, Huddersfield are in the midst of a four-match unbeaten run in front of their own supporters, a run epitomized by a 3-0 victory over Hull last month.

As for the visitors, suffering a 1-0 defeat against Birmingham at St. Andrew’s prior to the international break, Birmingham have now been hit with back-to-back defeats, including shipping four against Cardiff earlier in the month. Falling out of the top half of the standings, it will undoubtedly be their form outside of the Midlands giving Pep Clotet the biggest headache. The Blues are now in the midst of a four-match losing run on their travels, shipping nine goals on that losing run. With Huddersfield still enjoying quite the resurge, we’re backing a home victory for Cowley’s men this weekend.
