Inaki Williams is staying at Athletic Bilbao! And if the current situation is to go by, he will be staying there for a long, long time. The Basque club announced that the player has signed a new contract extension, but this one for nine years, keeping him at the club until 30 June 2028!
This unusual and incredibly long contract was signed after the rumours of Manchester United being interested in the player. Although they were just rumours and the Devils cannot sign players this summer anymore, due to end of their transfer window, Athletic Bilbao have made their mind – they want Inaki to stay at the club his entire career. Williams turned 25 in June and if he fulfills his latest extension, he will stay in Bilbao until he is 34!
His previous contract was ending in 2025, but Bilbao obviously thought that was not enough. More impotantly, the club increased the release clause up to 135 million euros, just in case there were any interested sides.
