Inter Milan are interested in signing Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano. The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported on Twitter that Inter have made an opening bid for the former Manchester United striker.
Romano has claimed that Inter have offered a loan fee of €5 million to sign Lukaku, but former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners Chelsea have turned it down. Lukaku has told his Chelsea bosses that he wants to join only Inter this summer and is pushing for a move to the former Italian champions.
Lukaku made 16 starts and 10 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Chelsea last season, scoring eight goals in the process. The Belgium international striker made four starts and two substitute appearances in the Champions League last season, scoring two goals in the process.
