Is Alisson set to follow Mohamed Salah out of the Liverpool exit this summer?

With Liverpool icon Mohamed Salah officially announcing last month that he will be ending his near decade of dominance at Anfield this summer, the Reds have certainly seen a major overhaul over the past 12 months.

Watching Luis Diaz complete a blockbuster switch to Champions League semi-finalists Bayern Munich last year, Arne Slot’s side will also wave an emotional goodbye to Andy Robertson as the Scotland skipper signs off his nine-year stay at the end of the season.

While Arne Slot’s side might have seen defensive talisman Virgil van Dijk put pen to paper on a contract extension 12 months ago, it has been suggested that another of Liverpool’s modern era icons could be heading for the Anfield exit this summer.

Facing what could be another frantic summer behind the scenes in the red half of Merseyside, it has been reported that Brazilian goalkeeper Alisson is weighing up a new adventure and the chance to draw a line under his record-breaking spell with the Premier League giants.

Juventus make their intentions clear

With Slot failing to give a guaranteed answer when quizzed over Alisson’s future at Anfield last week, many around the red of half of Merseyside feel that another one of their modern era heroes will be leaving the club this summer.

Although Liverpool might have only triggered the 12-month option in Alisson’s current contract last month, there is mounting speculation that the Brazilian international will be following the likes of Salah and Robertson out of Anfield.

Since arriving from Roma back in 2018, the 33-year-old has been a pillar of Liverpool’s success over the past eight years and has claimed two Premier League titles alongside Champions League success.

However, dealing with yet another injury setback prior to March’s international break and missing each of Liverpool’s previous seven appearances, Brazil’s number one choice has failed to find much fitness stability over the past two campaigns.

Missing 16 games across all competitions last season through injury, that tally is already at 17 this time around.

Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported this week that Alisson is open to a return to Serie A and would ideally like to have his domestic future sorted before travelling to this summer’s World Cup.

It has been reported that Juventus have already held initial discussions with the 33-year-old’s representatives and they are ready to offer a multi-year deal.

Although the 76-cap international might have made it clear that he is unwilling to force any kind of move away from Anfield and risk following in the footsteps of Trent Alexander-Arnold, he is open to a new adventure in Turin.

While Juventus might not be willing to offer a significant transfer fee for a goalkeeper who has been juggling a string of injury issues over the past two seasons, they are confident that they can agree a deal.
