Juve and PSG vying for Baselli

Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport has learned that Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are locked in the battle for Atalanta midfielder Daniele Baselli.

Despite extending Andrea Pirlo’s deal for another two years, the Bianconeri are on the lookout for the long-term successor to the Italy international and they currently have two players on their radar.

The first one is PSG starlet Adrien Rabiot, who only has a year left on his deal at Parc des Princes, with the Saints trying everything to tie him down to a new long-term contract.

At the same time, Juventus are keeping close tabs on Atalanta starlet Daniele Baselli, who has been likened to Andrea Pirlo for his star of play.

The only problem is that it is PSG who appear to be leading the chase for his signature at the moment, having had an €8 million bid rejected for the 22-year-old.

Even at 35, Andrea Pirlo remains a key player for the Italy national team, who are priced at 9/5 to defeat England on Sunday.
