Juventus are in need of a rebuild. That is what Tuttosport is suggesting on their latest front page, where the big story about the Old Lady is the main subject. According to the Italian outlet, Juventus are considering signing one of Matthijs de Ligt or Ruben Dias.
The centre-backs of Ajax and Benfica, respectively, have become big targets for the Turin-based club, as their ageing defence seems unable to finally get them a Champions League trophy. After a 2-0 loss to Atletico Madrid, Juventus are on the brink of exit and a new generation of players could be on their way in.
De Ligt and Dias are both heavily talented players, with the former playing over 100 matches for Ajax, becoming their captain at the age of 19, while the latter – who will turn 22 this May – has shown remarkable progress in the past 18 months.
Juventus would have to pay the big price if they sign any of these two youngsters, as both Ajax and Benfica will be ready to stall in order to get a bigger transfer fee.
