Italian giants Juventus coasted into the Italian Cup quarter-finals with a comfortable 3-0 win over Catania at Turin’s Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.

In the last of the last 16 ties to be played goals from Marco Marchionni, Sebastian Giovinco and Alessandro Del Piero ensured Juve coach Claudio Ranieri had a comfortable night.

Ranieri picked the strongest side available to him with Italy’s number one goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon making his return from injury.

They were off to a dream start on just four minutes as Marchionni mopped up the loose ball after Del Piero’s header was saved.

With 21 minutes left young playmaker Giovinco finished off a pass from Del Piero to make the game safe.

Having already hit both the post and bar, veteran Del Piero rounded off the scoring from the penalty spot a couple of minutes later.
