Kaka turned down Chelsea move

Kaka has revealed that he turned down the chance to join Chelsea before moving from Serie A giants AC Milan to Real Madrid in the summer.

Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti, who used to work with Kaka at Milan, tried to convince the Brazilian international to follow him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

However, Kaka insists that he never dreamt of leaving the San Siro until the club accepted a bid from Manchester City last January and that he only considered a move to the Bernabeu.

“It came to a point where it was better for both Milan and I to part,”he told Spanish radio station Cadena Cope.

When Milan opened the doors for me it was a sign. I no longer shared the same motives as the team.

And if there came a day when I had to leave Milan, I had always wanted to play in Madrid. I was able to go with Ancelotti to Chelsea, but I told him it was my dream to go to Madrid.”

Although the news will come as a disappointment to many fans, the London side are rumoured to be in the market for numerous big money signing in January before the club is hit with its transfer ban, and are said to be progressing well in talks with both Atletico Madrid’s Sergio Aguero and Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery.
