Leeds 10/11 to beat Barnsley and over 1.5 goals in Sunday’s Championship matchup

Competition: Championship

Market: Leeds win and over 1.5 goals

Odds: 10/11 @ Bet 365

Looking to bounce back after the international break, Leeds will make the trip to Oakwell on Sunday lunchtime.

Starting with the hosts, while a 1-0 win over Fulham on the opening weekend may have boosted the atmosphere around Oakwell, Barnsley have come crashing back down to earth. Managing to just snatch a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Wigan prior to the international break, Daniel Stendel’s men have failed to win any of their last six appearances, including crashing out of the League Cup thanks to a 3-0 hammering against lower league Carlisle last month. A huge part of their continued issues of late has come down to their lack of a clinical edge in the final third. Sunday’s hosts have managed to record just a single strike in over 300 minutes of action.

As for the visitors, while Leeds might be coming off the back of a 1-0 defeat against fellow promotion hopefuls Swansea prior to the international break, the mood in Marcelo Bielsa’s camp should be on a high. Tipped as a leading contender to secure a Premier League return come May, the former Napoli boss has seen his men continue to shine away from Elland Road. Including a 3-0 win away at Stoke last month, the Whites have won all four of their matches on the road so far and more impressive, they’re yet to concede a single away goal so far. Given the gulf in class between the two sides, we’re backing a routine away victory on Sunday lunchtime.
