Leeds close in on Luis Sinisterra

Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Luis Sinisterra from Feyenoord for a club record fee, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Sinisterra’s quality is believed to have attracted the attentions of many clubs, not only in England. Several months ago, he was strongly linked with Real Betis with reports in Spain suggesting an agreement was already in place for him to join Los Verdiblancos this summer, but those stories were quickly dismissed by reliable sources in his homeland of Colombia. Those sources did confirm Feyenoord’s consideration of a summer sale, but no agreement had been struck with any club at the time.

The 23-year-old predominantly plays as a left winger but can do the job across the attacking line, was a product of Colombian side Once Caldas which he left to join Feyenoord in 2018. Since then, he’s gone on to make a total of 113 appearances in all competitions for the Dutch club, scoring 35 goals and producing 29 assists.

Leeds now have a significant transfer fund at their disposal for boosting Jesse Marsch’s ranks, having completed the sale of Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City for £45m.
