Leeds United and Fulham eye William Saliba on loan

According to Le10 Sport, Leeds are interested in signing William Saliba on loan from Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window. The report in the French news outlet has claimed that Fulham, who won promotion from the Championship via the playoffs last season, are also looking to sign the 19-year-old central defender on a loan deal for the 2019-20 campaign.

Saliba is back at Arsenal after spending the 2019-20 campaign on loan at Saint-Etienne. The Frenchman stayed back at the Ligue 1 club as part of the deal to join the Gunners last summer. According to WhoScored, the France Under-20 international made 11 starts and one substitute appearance in Ligue 1 last season.

Arsenal do have quite a few centre-backs in their squad, and the North London club also signed Gabriel from Lille earlier this summer. Given that Saliba is only 19 years of age, a loan spell at Leeds or Fulham would make sense and would help in his development as a footballer.
