Relegated Spanish First Division side Levante could be set to spoil Real Madrid’s title glory after announcing on Monday they are to go on strike over unpaid wages totalling up to 18 million euros.

Real are due to face Levante on Sunday and receive the trophy before the match but the Spanish minnows may not even make that date as their spokesman Luis Manuel Rubiales revealed declaring that the strike was for an ‘indeterminate time’.

The Levante players had threatened to strike earlier in the season but pulled back from it two days before they were to play Huelva after coming to terms with the club’s board of directors.

Real are eight points ahead of Villarreal with one match remaining while Levante are bottom a massive 17 points adrift of fourth from bottom Osasuna.
