Liverpool, Benitez eye a move for Raul Albiol

The Sun writes Rafa Benitez may make a £9million raid on his old club Valencia — if Daniel Agger refuses to sign his new deal. The Liverpool boss is eyeing a move for 23-year-old centre-back Raul Albiol even though the Spaniards value him at £15m.

Yet Valencia are a reported £400m in debt — and Benitez is convinced that could swing it. The Anfield chief has not given up hope of keeping 24-year-old defender Agger but he has yet to agree terms.

Milan and Juventus have both expressed interest in the Dane and Liverpool do not want to risk losing him on a free with his contract up in 18 months.
