Liverpool eye Rodrigo De Paul as Georginio Wijnaldum replacement

Corriere dello Sport (print edition, page 25, Friday, January 15, 2021) has reported that Liverpool are interested in signing Rodrigo De Paul from Udinese. The report in the Italian publication has claimed that the Reds are looking at the Argentina international attacking midfielder as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum is an important player for Liverpool, but the Netherlands international is out of contract at Anfield at the end of the season. Contract decisions between the midfielder and the defending Premier League champions do not seem to have reached any conclusion, and there is a likelihood that he could leave in the summer of 2021.

De Paul has scored three goals and provided one assist in 16 Serie A appearances for Udinese so far this season, according to WhoScored. Udinese are 15th in the Serie A table at the moment with 16 points from 16 matches, just four points above the relegation zone.
