Liverpool have submitted an offer for Atletic Bilbao’s Iker Muniain, according to Marca.
Muniain, now 25 years old, has practically been a regular in the Basque team since he was 16, and so far he has made 357 appearances and scored 51 goals in all competitions from his position of a wide forward. He has played one game as a Spain international.
Muniain has entered the final 12 months of his contract and Liverpool are apparently looking to exploit the situation by offering him a tempting deal should he chose to move to Anfield as a free agent next summer. However, it is believed that the player would at this point rather sign a new deal and remain at his club where he has been a regular starter for a very long time.
At Liverpool, with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane currently forming the forward line, a starting role would for Muniain be far from guaranteed.
