Liverpool join Cabaye race

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Paris Saint Germain midfielder Yohan Cabaye, according to the Metro.

The France international only moved to the Ligue One champions last January, but has started just twenty league games since, and scored only once.

Prior to his move to Paris, the 29 year old spent two-and-a-half years at Newcastle United, during which time has was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal though he chose to return to his home country.

He has scored three goals in thirty-eight appearances for his country, with four of those outings coming at last summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is on the lookout for a replacement for club captain Steven Gerrard, who will move to the MLS in the summer.

The Reds beat relegation threatened Queens Park Rangers at Loftus Road on Saturday afternoon to move to within four points of the top four.
