Liverpool linked with Caulker

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is considering a move for Cardiff City defender Steven Caulker, according to ESPN.

The centre-back is one of several potential transfer targets for the Reds who finished second in the Premier League, two points behind champions Manchester City.

Despite their lofty position, the Reds conceded the most goals of the top nine sides in the division and Rodgers is keen to strengthen his back line for next season.

The 22 year old only moved to the South Wales club last summer, and has played every minute for them in the league this season but is expected to move on this summer following their relegation back to the Championship.

Internationally, the former Tottenham Hotspur man hasn’t played since he made his debut in the 4-2 friendly defeat to Sweden, and was overlooked by England manager Roy Hodgson for his squad for this summer’s World Cup finals in Brazil.
