Liverpool to make final bid for Lallana

Liverpool are set to make a last-ditch attempt to sign Southampton midfielder Adam Lallana, according to the Metro.

The England international is the Reds number one transfer target this summer, though the Merseyside club have so far been unsuccessful with two separate bids.

Brendan Rodgers has identified a number of alternative options including Bayern Munich’s Xherdan Shaqiri and Max Meyer of Schalke though he will first try one final time for Lallana with a fee in the region of £26m.

Bar a brief loan spell with Bournemouth, the 26 year old has spent his entire career with Southampton, making over two-hundred-and-fifty appearances in all competitions over the past eight seasons, scoring sixty goals.

Internationally, he will be hoping to win his eight cap as England take on Uruguay in their crunch World Cup Group D tie this evening, where Roy Hodgson’s men can be backed at 21/20 for the win.

Boring, another last offer from Liverpool. If Lallana has any sense he will stay where he is. If Suarez leaves then Liverpool will probably finish below Southampton next season.
