Manchester City are still fighting to win domestic treble. After League Cup victory, they need just four more wins to complete that. The Premier League title race is still very much incredible, with Man City keeping up the pace, but Pep Guardiola’s team is also preparing for next season.
During the previous two seasons of the Catalan’s stay at the club there was one position that was most of the time mentioned as a one that could be problematic – defensive midfielder. The reason for that is that Man City have only one true defensive midfielder in Fernandinho and his importance in this team has been great in these two seasons. But now Man City are ready to spend a lot of money on another defensive midfielder – Atletico Madrid’s Rodri.
Spanish journalist Guillem Balague wrote on his twitter profile that Man City are ready to pay the €70 million of the buy out clause, which means Atletico Madrid would be unable to stop the transfer from happening. According to Balague, the player [is] happy to study personal terms offered by City.
