Manchester City eye Southampton striker Danny Ings

Manchester City are interested in signing Danny Ings from Premier League rivals Southampton in the summer of 2021, according to The Athletic. The report has claimed that the former Premier League champions are looking for a new striker and will consider the ex-Liverpool man when the window opens at the end of the season.

Ings struggled with injury problems during his time at Liverpool and could not make a massive impact. The 28-year-old England international has returned to his best at Southampton, and his injury problems are behind him now. According to WhoScored, the former Liverpool striker scored 22 goals and provided three assists in the Premier League for Southampton last season, and so far this campaign, he has scored seven goals and has given three assists in the Premier League.

City have Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus as their two main strikers at the moment. However, Aguero has had injury problems and is also 32 years of age, while Jesus is only 23 and is still developing as a footballer.
