Manchester United eye AFC Wimbledon goalkeeper Matthew Cox

Manchester United are interested in signing Matthew Cox from AFC Wimbledon in the summer of 2021, according to The Telegraph. It has been reported that the Premier League giants have sent scouts to watch the 17-year-old goalkeeper this season.

Cox made his debut for the England Under-17 national football team in February, and that led to enquiries from clubs in the Premier League. The teenager signed a senior contract with AFC Wimbledon soon after, but that has not stopped United from taking interest in him.

Given that Cox is just 17 years of age and is only just staring his career. It is clear that the youngster is one for the future, and one suspects that United are looking at the youngster with a view to loaning him out or playing him their youth teams. David de Gea and Dean Henderson are the two main goalkeepers in the senior United side at the moment.
