Manchester United keen on Atalanta defender Giorgio Scalvini

Manchester United are interested in signing Giorgio Scalvini from Atalanta in the summer transfer window, according to SportsLens. The report has claimed that United have been scouting Scalvini and watched him in action against Lazio. The Red Devils were impressed with the 20-year-old centre-back.

Scalvini is one of the best young defenders in Europe and has been playing well for Atalanta. He came through the Italian club’s youth system and is now part of the first team. The Italy international centre-back has given two assists in 19 starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A and has scored one goal in three starts and one substitute appearance in the UEFA Europa League this season.

Manchester United are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 38 points from 23 matches, eight points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Atalanta currently find themselves fourth in the Serie A table with 39 points from 22 games.
