Manchester United plan January bid for Brentford striker Ivan Toney

Manchester United are interested in signing Ivan Toney from Brentford in the January transfer window, according to Football Transfers. The report has claimed that United are looking for a physical no. 9 to lead the line. Manager Erik ten Hag wants competition for Rasmus Hojlund, and the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are considering a bid for Toney.

Toney is serving a ban at the moment and will not be available to play until January 2024. The England international striker has made 68 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. Toney has scored 32 goals and given nine assists in those games.

Manchester United are 11th in the Premier League table at the moment with six points from four matches. The Red Devils are four points behind fourth-placed West Ham United and six points behind leaders and city rivals Manchester City. Meanwhile, Brentford are currently eighth in the league table with six points from four games.
