Marchisio: Tevez is welcome but must work hard

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio has insisted he is excited by Carlos Tevez’s imminent arrival in Turin.

The Manchester City forward is reported to be closing in on a move to Serie A with a transfer fee, thought to be around £12m, being agreed between the clubs on Tuesday evening.

Italy international Marchisio has lauded the striker’s rumoured arrival, with Tevez scoring 17 goals for the Manchester side in all competitions last season.

“I have already said it before and I repeat that great champions (like Tevez) are always more than welcome at Juventus,” he told Tuttosport.

“It’s crucial that he arrives here with the right motivation and the desire to give everything for the Juventus shirt, though.”

Juventus won the Serie A title last season, finishing nine points clear of Napoli.
