Mertens to leave Napoli next summer

Napoli have signed Hirving Lozano this summer for around 42 million euros, as they want the Mexican winger to become one of their stars in the future. But, the Partenopei are reportedly close to losing Dries Mertens at the end of the season.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, the Serie A runners-up are going to lose the Belgian, as Mertens wil not renew his contract with the club. His contract is set to run out in June 2020 and he is reportedly considering making this season his final one at Napoli. Mertens has been integral to this squad and this generation of Napoli players, as he scored at least 15 goals in each of his last three Serie A campaigns, ending one of them with 28 goals!

Mertens does not want to renew his contract with Napoli and will leave when his current deal expires in 2020, with a possible move to China, USA or back to Belgium already being touted.
