Middlesbrough 11/10 to beat Ipswich in Tuesdays Championship clash

Competition: Championship

Market: Middlesbrough win

Odds: 11/10 @ Bet 365

With a chance to leapfrog both West Brom and Leeds to top spot in the Championship, Middlesbrough will travel to East Anglia on Tuesday night to face an Ipswich side still looking for their first win of the season.

Starting with Paul Hurst’s Ipswich side, although he could guide Shrewsbury to the playoff final last season, it has been a very tough start at Portman Road. Despite taking a 2-0 lead away at Birmingham on Saturday, the Trotters could only leave with a draw after a very lackluster second half showing. Still without a Championship win to their name after 10 games, they also find themselves sat in the relegation zone entering October. If Ipswich do want to avoid a battle at the end of the season, Hurst will know his side must improve on their record in East Anglia. In Fact, Tuesday’s hosts have recorded just one win at home in 2018.

As for the visitors, while Tony Pulis could only see his Middlesbrough side leave Hull with a point over the weekend, it has been an impressive start to the season for a team tipped by the bookies for a return to Premier League football. Along with coming past Preston in the League Cup, Boro have only lost one match since the start of the new campaign. Now just a single point behind both Leeds and West Brom, the former Stoke boss will be most impressed by his sides defensive record. Only conceding four goals in their opening 10 Championship matches, they have also recorded a clean sheet in seven of those outings.
