Mourinho doesn’t expect Spurs business in this window

Speaking to the press ahead of his team’s Premier League clash with Liverpool on Thursday, head coach Jose Mourinho revealed that he doesn’t expect the club to do any business in the transfer market this month.

Spurs have been linked with a loan deal to bring back Christian Eriksen from Inter Milan, while out-of-favour midfielder Dele Alli was heavily tipped to leave for Paris Saint-Germain, now led by former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino. However, with only four days remaining of the transfer window, nothing is very likely to happen. Further more, Mourinho repeated his stance from a few weeks ago – that he never expected anything to happen this month at all, and that if anything does happen, it will be a ‘huge surprise’.

The Portuguese tactician also confirmed that Alli will miss the Liverpool game through injury, and dismissed Liverpool’s recent poor form as any kind of indicator when it comes to the outcome of the contest.
