Napoli could beat Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United to the signing of Lille striker Jonathan David, according to Football Insider. David is out of contract at Lille at the end of the season and has decided to leave the French club as a free agent.
Premier League clubs Tottenham and West Ham are interested in securing the services of David as a free agent, but Napoli are pushing hard to get a deal done for the Canada international striker, who has scored 25 goals and given 12 assists in 49 appearances this season.
Journalist Pete O’Rourke told Football Insider: “I’d fancy Jonathan David to make a move to Italy on a free.
“I think Napoli seem to be the ones that are really pushing for the Canadian international.
“So I think there’s more possibility of them playing in Serie A than the Premier League next season.”
