Newcastle keen on Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans

Newcastle United are interested in signing Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans in the summer transfer window, according to The Northern Echo. Tielemans is out of contract at Leicester at the end of the season, and Premier League rivals Newcastle want to snap him up on a free transfer.

Tielemans has made 19 starts and four substitute appearances in the Premier League for Leicester so far this season, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the process. The midfielder also scored one goal in four Carabao Cpp matches for Brendan Rodgers’s this campaign.

Newcastle are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 41 points from 24 matches, four points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played 26 games. Meanwhile, Leicester currently find themselves 15th in the standings with 24 points from 25 games.
