Newcastle make second bid for Sevilla centre-back Diego Carlos

Newcastle United are interested in signing Diego Carlos from Sevilla in the January transfer window, according to 90min. It has been reported that Newcastle have increased their offer for Carlo and have him their number one defensive target.

Premier League club Newcastle initially made an offer of just under £30 million for Carlos, but La Liga outfit turned it down. However, the Magpies have not given up on signing the Brazilian central defender and have made a second bid of £33 million.

Sevilla do not want to sell the 28-year-old in the January transfer window, but the Brazilian central defender himself is open to a move to Newcastle, who are in the Premier League bottom three at the moment and are in real danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
