(GSM) – Cote d’Ivoire midfielder Cheik Tiote is nearing a move to newly-promoted Premier League side Newcastle United according to his Dutch club Twente’s official website.
The Eredivisie club’s official website (www.fctwente.nl) said on Saturday that the 24-year-old is set to join the Toons subject to a medical and a work permit.
The Cote d’Ivoire midfielder played at this year’s World Cup in South Africa and was an instrumental player in Steve McClaren’s Twente side which won the Eredivisie last season.
