Newcastle United and West Ham United moved for M’Bala Nzola

According to Tuttosport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Newcastle United and West Ham United wanted to sign M’Bala Nzola from Spezia in the summer of 2020. It has been reported by the Italian publication that the two Premier League clubs made a move for the 24-year-old striker, but he decided to stay put at the Serie A club.

The Frenchman joined Spezia on loan from Trapani in January 2020 and made a permanent move to the Italian club in the summer of 2020 after helping them win promotion from Serie B to Serie A. According to WhoScored, the striker has made three starts and one substitute appearance in Serie A so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.

West Ham are 12th in the Premier League table at the moment with 11 points from eight matches, while Newcastle currently find themselves 13th in the standings with 11 points from eight games.
