Newcastle United are favourites to sign former Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves from Al-Hilal in the January transfer window, according to TEAMtalk. Neves joined Saudi Pro League club Al-Hilal from Wolves only in the summer transfer window, but Newcastle are keen on bringing him to St. James’ Park in January.
Neves was brilliant during his time at Wolves and was one of the best players in the Premier League. The Portugal international defensive midfielder made 177 appearances in the Premier League, scoring 21 goals and providing nine assists in those games. Neves played in the UEFA Europa League with Wolves as well.
Newcastle are seventh in the Premier League table with 20 points from 12 matches, six points behind Tottenham Hotspur in fourth. Eddie Howe’s side are aiming to finish in the UEFA Champions League places in the league table.
