Newcastle United now want Eddie Howe after Unai Emery blow

Newcastle United now want to appoint Eddie Howe as their new manager, according to The Independent. It has been reported that Newcastle’s new owners, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), have moved on from Unai Emery and want to bring in former Bournemouth boss Howe.

The Magpies wanted to appoint former Arsenal manager Emery as their boss, but the Spaniard has turned them down and wants to stay at his current club Villarreal. Newcastle have now moved onto Howe, who is without a managerial role at the moment following his departure from Bournemouth in the summer of 2020.

Newcastle sacked Steve Bruce as their manager last month and are in need of a permanent boss right now. The Magpies are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with four points from 10 matches, as many as six points behind 17th-placed Leeds United.
